1.Introduction

Jhansi division of North Central Railway happens to be one of the largest in business (both freight & passenger operation), socio-politically active and important from the view point of tourismand pilgrimage centers. For operations on Indian Railway, Jhansi division acts like a spinal cord, hence needs constant and careful attention and monitoring.

Jhansi division overall handles 215 coaching trains daily including 147 Mail/Exp. trains, 54 Passenger trainson broad gauge and 14 passengers trains on Narrow gauge section.In addition 5725freight trains (avg. month)are run on the division and 08 to 10 trains are handled at various unloading / loading terminals every day.

Divisional operating department isheadedbySr. DOM, and Sir.DOM(Genl) assistedby DOM(Goods), & DOM (Cogl) and ADOM (Cog.) (vacant since may. 2013) &ADOM (movt) vacant since may. 2012 . There are two posts of field officers viz. Area Manager/GWL (Jr. Scale,and Station Manager/Jhansi (Jr. Scale).

ACHIEVEMENTS IN TRAIN OPERATIONS DURING 2012-13

1.Best ever handling of through freight trains in Mar 2013

In March -2013 division has been able to handled 6616 through goods trains which is the best ever performance in freight operations the previous best ever figure of through freight trains was 6451 , which was achievedMar-2012

2.Best ever through put in Mar 2013

In March-2013 division has achievedthe best ever through put I,e10897 Wagons/ day (214 Trains/day ) while the previous best ever figure of through put was 10359Wagons day (208 trains /day) ,achieved in Mar-2012.

3.Best ever Interchange in Mar 2013.

In March-2013 division has achieved the best ever interchange i.e. 10646           wagons/day. The previous best ever figure of interchange was 9916           achieved in March-2012.

4.Best ever unloading of coal rakes at PTPP.

During March-2013, total 114 coal rakes have been unloaded at PTPP siding in Mrach-2013. This is the best ever unloading of PTPP siding, the previous best figure was 90 rakes, which was achieved in Jan-2013.

BEST EVER OPERATING PERFORMANCE RECORDED IN A SINGLE DAY

1.On 24.08.12 the division has achieved 100% punctuality of M/Exp trains, this is happened first time from the introduction of ICMS project.

2.On 04.01.2013 the highest 6 coal rakes have been unloaded atPTSC.

3.On 30.01.2013 total 364 wagons have been loaded of various commodities.

4.On 25.03.2013 the highest 16 Goods trains handed over to ALD Division at GMC Interchange point.

5.On 26.3.13 JHS. division has achieved 12418 wagons (245 Trains) as divisional through put this is the best ever performance achieved in a single day. The pervious best ever figures was 12335 wagons (243 trains) which was achieved on 24-03-2013.

6.On 28.03.2013 the highest 26 Goods trains have been handed over to WC Railway at BINA Interchange point.

7.On 28.03.2013 the highest 23 Goods trains have been handed over to WC Railway at AGD Interchange point.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS

Achievements During 2012-13

1.Shifting of station building of BLNR station:-

During July.2013, the work of shifting of station building of BLNR station has taken on hand 05 July 2012 and the existing station building of BLNR station has been shifted to the proposed location on 06.07.12 the work has been completed after a one day NI work i.e. on 06.07.12. This will facilitate the work of proposedUP loop lineat BLNR.

2.Connection of New BG line of LAR-Tikamgarh section fromLAR station:-

During July.2013, the work of connection of new BG line of LAR-Tikamgarh section from LAR station has been started from 13.07.12 and the new section has been connected from LAR station by alteration in existing penal interlocking facility. The proposed connection has been commissioned after a two days NI work i.e. from 13.07.12 to 14.07.12.

3Introduction of panel interlocking facility at KBR station:-

During Aug. 2012the KBR station has been equipped with panel interlocking facility. The NI work was taken on hand 16.08..12 and completed on 17.08.12 . The panel has been installed in newly constructed station building .

4.Extension of Ballast siding of CGN station:-

During Sept.2012the existingballast siding of CGN station has been extended by 100 mts. The work of extension has been carried out on 22.09.2012and by this innovation. The CGN ballast siding is augmented for full rake handlingfacility.

5.Commissioning of RRI at JHS.:-

During October 2012, the long awaited project of RRI at JHS has been completed. The RRI has been commissioned and started functioning w.e.f. 18.10.2012 afterafive days NI work . With the introduction of RRI at JHS four Cabins viz, C.D. E. &panel Cabin have been dismantled . Scissor & diamondcrossings provided in the yard have been dismantled and four new cross over paints have been introducedfor smooth train operation.

6.Up gradation of MTH station from MNI to Std-III along with panel interlocking      and CLS.:-

During Dec. 12 , MTH station has been upgraded from MNI to Std-III interlocking and equipped with panel interlocking facility and coir light signaling . Thisinnovative work has been carried out after a two day NI work i.e. from 16.12.12to 17.12.12. and the above facility has start functioning from 17.12.12.

7.Linking of AGD station with Mahadevkhedi station of WC. Rly. :-

During Jan.2013, the connection between AGD station & MDVK station of BPL Division of WC Rly. Has been commissioned. The work has been carried out after 3 days NI work from 13.01.13 to 15.0.13 . By this an innovation the direct connection between AGD & MDVK station has been available.

8.Provision of Panel Interlocking facility at KONCH station.

During March.2013 the KONCH station has been equipped with panel interlocking facility. The panel has been commissioned and start functioning w.e.f. from 21.3.13 after a One day NI work.

9.Provision of CLS at Gate no. S-29 between RGU-BSZ.

During March.2013 the Engg. gate no. S-29 situated between RGU-BSZ station has been equipped with colour light signaling. This innovation has been done on 06-03-2013.
