INTRODUCTION & HISTORY
Dating back to the times of Vedas and Puranas, the holy city of Sangam which was earlier called Prayag is located at theconfluence of three rivers, Ganga, Jamuna & mythical Sarswati. Is an oldest pilgrimage center of India.
The city was built by Emperor Akbar in 1553. It wasalso capital of united province during British Raj. Anand Bhawan, the house of Nehrus was center of Indian freedom movement

Allahabad railway section was part of East Indian Railway. The Allahabad Railway Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals of earstwhile E I Railway. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid down in March 1924 by Sir Harry G. Waters, Chief Medical officers of EI Railway and it started working from 1925. Dr.F.E.R.Laborda was the first incharge of the hospital and Dr. J.R.Bhatia was the first Indian incharge of the hospital.
The hospitals incumbency board shows many legends of the medical department such as Dr.J.C.Mehta, Dr.Gadeock, Dr.D.D.Agrawal, Dr.J.S.Pathak, Dr.P.N.Bannerjee, Dr.H.G.Roy, Dr.D.C.Joshi and Dr.V.D.Mathur.

The aim of Medical and Health Organization is to provide quality comprehensive health care to railway employees ofAllahabad division, CORE, NCR Headquarter and registered retired railway employees and their families. It provides medical reliefto passengers injured in railway accidents and it also meets administrative needs of railways.

·MOU have been signed with some of the private hospitals ofmajor cities for their assistance in event of an accident.
·Regular disaster management drills are carried out.
