General Introduction

Divisional Railway Hospital, Jhansi is Grade-I Hospital catering about 81399 Railway Population including 27133 serving employee and about 9092 Retired Railway Beneficiaries. The present hospital started functioning in 1961as 100 bedded hospital & was upgraded in phased manner up to 205 bedded by 1997. It is under the administrative control of CMS/ JHS, also includes Health units at LAR, WS/JHS, RLN/JHS, GWL, RSK/STLI, ORAI, JUI, MBA, BNDA & MKP.

Highlights of Medical Department

1.Saving of Rs. 64847/- (Approx.) by using Surplus medicines at Jhansi collected from other divisions.

2.Saving of Rs. 136601/- (Approx.) by sending Surplus medicines to other division from Jhansi division.

4.This hospital had treated almost all cases of Dengue in the year 2016 and lab of DRH- Jhansi is fully equipped for the diagnosis of positive dengue case ( Test like MS1 , Igg & GM)

5.Safai Abhiyan organized in Jhansi division from 01.07.16 to 15.07.16 & 17.09.16 to 24.09.16 in Railway colonies & stations

6.Thirteen (13) Multi purpose Health checkup Camp organized at various locations of Jhansi division- patient examined 351

7.Separate drug dispensing window inaugurated by DRM-JHS.

8.Good control over Mandays lost in RMC & IOD compared to last year.

9.PME & candidate examination is being done under strict vigil, doctors and staffs doing medical examination are nominated day to day.

10.National Unity Day observed on 31.10.16.

11.World AIDS Day observed on 01.12.16.

12.The staff is trained as per railway schedule and HQ guidelines

other achievements

ØSwatch Bharat Abhiyan, pulse polio & other national programmes are organized successfully for the prevention of diseases amongst railway population in the jurisdiction

ØThirteen (13) Multipurpose Health checkup Camp organized at various locations of Jhansi division.

ØThree (03) School Health Checkup Camp for students organized at Railway School of Jhansi,

Ø20th Sept. 2016 was observed as Swach Neer Day under Swach Bharat Mission by collecting 84 water samples for Residual chlorine by inspecting filter houses, pump houses, handpumps etc over Jhansi division.

Ø25th Sep. 16 was observed as Swach Ahar Day under Swach Bharat Mission by collecting 37 food samples and doing inspection of Pentrycar, food units etc

Innovations & System improvement

ØRoad Mobile Van: Proposal is sent to HQ for approval.

ØSanction for hiring of ambulance in emergency for each health unit of Jhansi division: Budgetary quotations from Health Units have been asked from local market and proposal forwarded for finance vetting.

ØSanitation JPO- Proposal has been processed for creation for 29 posts of Health Inspectors in reference to sanitation JPO.

ØProposal for Septic Tank Cleaning under process

ØEmpanelment of Non- CGHS hospital at Jhansi & all Health Units: 05 hospitals at Jhansi for empanelled are approved MOU under process.

Empanelment of Non-CGHS/CGHS hospital at Gwalior is under process at HQ/NCR.

ØBio-Medical Waste management: For DRH/JHS is done by 22.01.15 and agreement is upto 21.01.18.

ØFresh Quotations are being sought for Health Units as quotations receivedare of high rates.

Assistance Required

ØPosting of doctors vice vacant posts: Request is already sent toHQ/ALD.

Ø500 MA X-Ray Digital Radiography unit under M&P is proposed, early sanction is requested.

Other important ongoing works/activities.

Special efforts taken to improve the quality of treatment in DRH/JHS

1.Accessibility of CMS or other administrative doctor to the patient is ensured.

2.Special OPD for RELHS beneficiary started.

3.Separate Medicine dispensing window for RELHS beneficiaries started.

4.Separate OPDzone started for General Doctors and Specialists

5.It is ensured that doctors and staff are present on time and are working to the full satisfaction of the patients.

6.Regular meetings with doctors as well as paramedical staff is done to assess the working of DRH/JHS.

7.Thus the number of complaints has drastically reduced.

8.Patients’ feedback proforma is recently introduced for indoor patients in all wards to assess satisfaction level and for complaints, if any.
