Today o­n the 1st of February, 2018; GM/NCR interacted with the representatives of press and media in NCR/HQ, Subedarganj, Allahabad. Talking to the Press, GM/NCR Shri M.C.Chauhan informed that in the current financial year from April to December, 2017, NCR has achieved important milestones in almost all spheres of activity, which are as follows:

·From April to Dec 2017 punctuality of mail-express trains in NCR was 56.81%. Compared to 49.80% in the corresponding period of last year it is an improvement of 14.1%, which is a record for NCR and the best improvement among all the Zones in the Country. Also, during Dec 2017 punctuality was 42.98% as compared to 22.97% in December 2016, which is an improvement of 87% over last year.

·NCR has improved its Total Originating Earnings by 9.7% and Total Apportioned Earnings by 11.20% over corresponding period of the last financial year.

·The originating loading hasimproved by 18.4% over last year & 14.1 % above the proportionate target given by Railway Board. Also, Loading of 1.338 million tonne in Dec’17 is best ever loading for any month since inception of NCR

·In the field of safety, NCR has succeeded with it ‘Mission Zero SPAD (Signal Passing At Danger) and there has been no case of SPAD over NCR in the year 2017. 21 Safety drives have been launched over NCR and latest technologies like ‘Hot Box Detector’, ‘Ultrasonic Broken Rail Detection System’, ‘Optic Fiber Based Distributed Acoustic Sensing System’, ‘Wheel Impact Load Detector’ and ‘Real Time Electronic Detection of Integrity of Track System’ have been adopted to strengthen the safety profile of the Zone.

·61 level crossings (including 26 manned and 35 unmanned crossings) have been closed and 9 Road over bridges & 39 Road under bridges have been constructed in lieu of level crossings. Also 287 Gate Mitras have been deployed o­n all the 119 Unmanned Level Crossings (UMLCs)

·For the benefit of passengers and capacity augmentation, 10 new pairs of trains have been introduced, 3 pairs have been given new stoppages,657 special trains have been run,  3846 extra coaches have been attached, and three pairs of trains have been permanently augmented with extra coaches in the financial year in the period under discussion (April to December 2017).

·In the field of passenger amenities, 129 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) have been installed in various locations o­n NCR in its three divisions.

·At all ‘A-1’ category stations, provision of ‘Divyang Friendly’ toilets have been completed. Now o­n ‘A-1’ category stations, (Allahabad, Kanpur Central, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt, and Mathura), ‘Divyang Friendly’ toilets are available o­n every platform.

·For the benefit of visually challenged passengers, Braille Signages have been provided in 432 coaches of trains in important trains of NCR.

·Out of the 34 escalators sanctioned, 17 have been commissioned over NCR, and 5 more will be commissioned in the current financial year. The remaining 12 will be commissioned in 2018-19. Similarly, out of the 30 lifts sanctioned for NCR, 3 have been commissioned while 12 will be commissioned in the current financial year itself. Remaining 15 will be commissioned in the next financial year.

·Out of the 30 stations of NCR planned for WiFi, 11 have been provided with the same while the balance will be provided with WiFi by June 2018. Those provided with WiFi include All 6 A-1 Category and 5 A-Category stations of NCR.

·The work of extension of platforms for 24 coach length-trains has been done at 7 stations, i.eShujatpur, Saiyid Sarawaan, Mahoharganj, Basai, Fatehpur Sikri, Rupbas and Runakta Stations has been completed, and the work of elevation of platforms of 3 stations-Fatehpur Sikari, Rupbas and Runakta  has been completed.

·Work of construction of FOB has been completed at Allahbad (line shah baba), Naini,  Robertsganj, Mirzapur, Vindhyachal, Farah, and Kitham stations.FOBs are under construction at Mathura, Kirawali (Agra Division), Fatehpur Sirkri, Roopwas, Runakta, Khajuraho.Work of Extension of FOB has been completed at Manikpur and Dadri.

·A 3 months programme, was launched by Indian Railways, titled ‘Project Swarn’toupgrade selected Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. NCR has upgraded Kanpur–New Delhi Shatabdi Express (12033-34) under this project . The renovated and improved rake started its service w.e.f. 01.01.2018 with all modern facilities.

·For infrastructure improvement,Electronic Interlocking has been commissioned in Dadri and Chandari,  Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) work at Tundla  in in progress and is expected to be completed by August 2018. It will bring 47 stations from Kanpur to Ghaziabad under centralized Control, improving throughput, precedence planning, safety and overall operations. Mobile Train Radio Communication System (MTRC) has been commissioned in Palwal-Jhansi ad Aligarh-Etawah sections and work ins in progress in Ghaziabad-Aligarh and Etawah-Mughal Sarai Sections.

·One RHEDA type washable apron has been commissioned at TDL station at PF No. 2 (Line No.3), increasing the speed o­n this line from 10kmph to 65 kmph and also making it possible to run goods traffic o­n this line. This work has been done in record time of 42 days.

·Aligarh-Ghaziabad 3rdline  has been commissioned, While Panki-Bhaupur 3rd line and Mathura-Palwal 4rth line are expected to be completed in February and March 2018 respectively. Jhansi-Bina 3rd line is also expected to be complete by March 2018.

·Under Green Initiatives, 6.7MWp Solar Power Plants (out of 11MWp planned) have been installed, Led lighting has been provided  at 225 stations, and an MOU has been signed with EESL (JV under Ministry of Power), which will lead to annual savings of 4.13 million units and reduce CO2 emissions by 2973 tonne.

·For Cleanliness, Mechanized Cleaning along with rag picking and garbage disposal contracts have been finalized at 14 stations, Pay and Use Toilets at 16 stations, Deluxe pay and use toilets at 7 stations.

·Allahabad, Kanpur and Jhansi have been nominated as Clean Train Stations and total 150  trains  (ALD-39, CNB-28 and JHS-83) are being covered under CTS,

·20 out of 22 trains have been covered under o­n Board House Keeping (OBHS) Services. Balance 2 trains under process.

·46 Trains have been partially provided with 2023 Bio-toilets in 614 coaches. Upto Dec’ 17, 70 Bio-tanks retrofitted this year.

·For Staff Welfare, o­nline Grievance Redressal and Facilitation Centre “Nirakaran”commissioned. NCR Launched “Project Saksham”, under which training will be imparted to 65 Thousand Employees in o­ne year. Effective, responsive and target oriented work culture has been evolved through “Employees’ Charter” issued o­n 27.09.2007 defining clear timeline for various staff & transparency and accountability.

Kumbh Preparations

At Allahabad Jn.

·Multi-level parking and pilgrim centre o­n the city side (in G+6 Building). This will also contain retiring rooms, ORH etc. (Retendered, fresh tender will be opened o­n 24/12/2017)

·Skywalk to connect all foot over bridges (Smith Road FOB to be Joined with Line Shah Baba FOB along PF No. 4 and 6;  Line Shah Baba to be connected to Public FOB along PF.No. 2 and 3; Public FOB to be connected to new FOB to be constructed by Bridge Line o­n Delhi end)

·Construction and Extension of Platform Sheds: All platforms at ALD station to be covered 100%.

·Development of the Circulating area (City Side)

·Construction of overhead tank of a capacity of 1 lakh gallons for the supply of drinking water

·Construction of three new deep bore wells

·Construction of 4 new passenger enclosures (City Side)

·A G+3 building will be constructed in GRP colony in city side to accommodate present cooperative bank, TT Rest house and other offices.

·Rs 116 crores are to be spent o­n all the above works.

At Subedarganj Station:

·Works of increasing the elevation of the platforms and construction of new FOB have been completed.

·Works of development of Subedarganj as a separate satellite terminal station were inaugurated by Hon’ble MOSR o­n 31/05/2017. Rs: 44.26 Crores are to be spent o­n the works which need to be done in this connection, which are as follows:

·Development of the circulating area and the station building


·New FOB

·Electrical Sub Station

·Construction of Overhead water tank

·Platform shelter

·Provision of benches


·Water Booths

·Hydrant pipe lines

·The second entry of Subedarganj station towards Rajrooppur-Jhalwa will also be developed. New platform will be constructed o­n this side.

·Installation of 4 escalators at the station is proposed.

At Chheoki  station

·Work of new building at Chheoki station is complete.

·Construction of new FOB with ramp for differently abled, old, infirm passengers is complete

·Escalator has also been provided at the station.
