GM/NCR CONDUCTS ANNUAL INSPECTION OF AGRA DIVISION: AWARDS STAFF FOR OUTSTANDING WORK

 

GM/NCR Shri M.C.Chauhan conducted the GM’s annual inspection of Agra Division of North Central Railway o­n Saturday, 10thFebruary, 2018. The inspection started in the morning and continued till late in the evening. The section inspected was the Bandikui-Agra section. Starting from Bandikui, the inspection included the inspection of the track from the rear window of the inspection car as well as o­ne Major Curve ( number 55)  two Level Crossings [97 C(E)] , o­ne Gang (No.11), o­ne Limited Height Subway (No.58),  o­ne Station(Nadvai), o­ne Railway Colony (At Nadvai Station) , o­ne Minor Bridge(No.67) , o­ne Major Bridge(No.65), and o­ne turnout (number 294B/Achnera Yard). During the inspection the upkeep, maintenance and the general condition of the section was found to be very good.GM/NCR gave away cash awards to individual staff/group of staff for their dedication to duty, good knowledge and performance. In the inspection GM/NCR interacted extensively with the staff and tested them o­n their knowledge about their work and duties. He also enquired into their welfare and advised the concerned officers to take special care of the welfare of the staff working in the section. Tree plantation was also done o­n Nadvai station in the newly developed ‘Rail Vatika’ by GM/NCR and senior officers accompanying him. A small meeting was organized by local people in which the work of NCR in the section under inspection was praised by the locals and the officers were felicitated. GM/NCR informed the gathering that the doubling of Agra-Bandikui section had been sanctioned in the new budget. The news was welcomed by a round of applause and cheers by the crowd that had gathered in the meeting. GM/NCR also appreciated the traditional artwork that had been done o­n the walls of the stations in the section. During the inspection of the various facilities en-route from Bandikui to Agra, GM/NCR also conducted a thorough check of the track parameters. Toe load exerted by Pandrol Clips o­n the rails was measured and was found to be within range. He also gave close attention to the condition of the road surface at LC gates, and the equipment that are used to maintain the track and other related facilities. GM advised that steps should be taken to improve the visibility of the LC gates for the road users. At Achnera station, GM/NCR also inspected the various facilities like waiting rooms, toilets, PRS, retiring room etc. He advised that the first class waiting rooms should be provided with stainless steel benches. After the inspection of the section, GM/NCR conducted an inspection of Agra Cantt Station. After the inspection he expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness at the station and the general upkeep of the same. At Agra Cantt GM/NCR also met representatives of the press and media and answered their questions. During this interaction, GM also informed the press and media about the provisions made in the new budget for Agra Division. Speaking o­n the budget, GM/NCR Shri M.C.Chauhan said that it is a progressive budget, which is focussed o­n Capacity Enhancement, Safety Improvement and Improvement in Passenger Amenities. “NCR will benefit greatly from this year’s budget as will the states of U.P, M.P, Rajasthan and Haryana which are served by the Zonal Railway” he added.
